Summer Graduate Recruitment Fair - Scotland

The SECC Glasgow - A two day event organised by the careers centre staff from the University of Glasgow.

L to R: Rachel Mutters (Gradcracker), Gerry Duffy (Royal Navy), Chris Traynor (Proctor & Gamble), Kirsty Lawson (Doosan Babcock Energy), Angela Lockhart (Gradcracker).

Our return visit to this event didn’t disappoint. A superb venue with excellent facilities and a great stand location. 1,800 students studying a variety of courses visited the fair over the two days. Our stand attracted many engineering students studying at universities such as Glasgow, Aberdeen, Glasgow Caledonian, Heriot Watt, Robert Gordon, Strathclyde and the University of the West of Scotland. It was a fantastic opportunity to speak with the students and explain Gradcracker in more detail to them.

L to R: Gradcracker’s University Liaison Manager, Angela Lockhart, with Linda Murdoch, Deputy Director for the Careers Service (l), and Fiona Black, Careers Information Manager (r), from the University of Glasgow.

On the final day we had the chance to chat with some of the employers advertising on Gradcracker who also attended the event. They were happy to have their photo taken with us at our stand and we would like to extend our thanks to Gerry Duffy - Royal Navy, Chris Traynor - Procter & Gamble and Kirsty Lawson - Doosan Babcock Energy, for taking part.

A big thank you goes out to Linda Murdoch, Deputy Director for the Careers Service and Fiona Black, Careers Information Manager for all their help in promoting Gradcracker to the engineering students at the University of Glasgow. It was fantastic to meet both of them at the event and we look forward to catching up again soon.

Also we would like to thank Jo MacDonald for her part in organising the fair. Jo is now on maternity leave and we would like to send her good luck wishes for the future.
