Looking for work placements on the internet - a Gradcracker presentation

Sean and I visited The University of Huddersfield last week to hold a presentation for engineering students on the importance of taking work placements and giving advice about looking for work placements on graduate careers websites.

We showed the students around a number of the leading generalist graduate sites and we visited a couple of websites which specialise in work placement opportunities. Then we gave them a quick tour of gradcracker.com. On each website we searched for engineering work placements and compared the number of results - not surprisingly, there were more live placement opportunities for engineering students on Gradcracker than all the others combined.

The presentation went really well with approximately sixty students attending. We would like to thank the University for asking us to present to the students and for marketing the presentation to the students so well! And, of course, to all the students who came along - we hope you found it useful!

Here is what Emily Timson, Placement Advisor at the University had to say about the event:

"It was lovely to meet Sean and Annie last week, their presentation was really informative and has hopefully instilled in our students not only the benefits of work placements but also more importantly techniques to actually source a placement, so thank you Gradcracker."

We've added more photos from the event to the gallery - why not take a look?
