IET Issues Last Call for Entries for the 2010 Ambition and Young Professionals' Achievement Awards
The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has issued a last call for entries for the 2010 Ambition Awards (which include a range of undergraduate IT and engineering scholarships and competitions for students) and for the Young Professionals' Achievement Awards.
This is the last opportunity for current and prospective students studying on engineering and IT programmes to apply for additional funding for university. Students have up until 30 June 2010 to apply for an undergraduate scholarship worth up to £3,000 per annum
The IET is also seeking nominations for the 2010 Young Professionals' Achievement Awards which celebrate the achievements of outstanding young professionals. These may be individuals who have shown exceptional leadership in developing a project, excelled in the workplace or demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the profession. If you feel that you, or someone you know is deserving of recognition then submit a nomination today!
The IET is also offering students the opportunity to win an all expenses paid trip around the world as the first prize in its annual 'Write around the World' essay writing competition. To enter, all students need to do is email a 2,000-3,000 word essay (on any engineering or technology related subject) to awards@theiet.org.
Sponsored by RS, Transport for London, BP and GCHQ, the IET Ambition and Young Professional Achievement Awards aim to help finance the studies of promising engineering students in the UK as well as rewarding promising young professionals, writers and presenters from within the engineering and technology industries.
"A big part of the IET's remit is supporting students and young professionals within the engineering industry, to ensure that the engineers of the future can fulfil their potential," says Agnes Segal, Manager of Membership Services at The IET. "The recognition and rewards provided by the Ambition Awards play a vital role in helping engineers at the beginning of their careers develop and excel in the field."
To enter or for more information please visit the IET Ambition Awards or IET Young Professional Achievement Awards websites. The closing date for entries is Wednesday 30th June
