Responsibilities
Quality Engineer’s support Engine Assembly in solving day to day build problems to ensure product quality, maintain engine build and drive improvement activities. A Quality Engineer may be involved in a wide variety of issues including those with design, process, component, equipment or human causes.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for applying problem solving techniques and using sound technical ability to provide an immediate interim solution to an issue. Longer term improvement actions in the responsible areas are also driven by the Quality Engineer, which includes working with a broad range of internal Cummins departments and external Suppliers.
Offering wide and varied experiences, this is a challenging role with the opportunity to develop a breadth of experience and skills within Quality Management.
Training Provided
Cummins standard training for new employees will be provided, along with engine appreciation and other specific training to support the role.
Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanically or electrically bias engineering related degree (2.2 minimum)
- Drive and enthusiasm
- Sound problem solving abilities
- Highly developed organisational and communication skills
- Good competency in general IT systems is also required
