Fawaz Rizvi - Business Stream Owner

I graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Electronics System Design. On joining Firth Rixson, I was appointed as a business stream owner for FRTR (turbine rings) reporting sales figures to the senior management, projecting future sales and co-ordinating with the operations to meet our targets. I have also headed up sales in India and the Middle East which involved dealing with all our current customers whilst bringing in new opportunities by developing various sales strategies.

During the scheme I have developed a sales database to calculate sales by customer, which has enabled the business to identify customers with a trend of sales decline and to concentrate on lost accounts.

I have found my time with FR very enjoyable, the team are very helpful and have years of experience. It has helped me to develop my career - my programme has been flexible in moving me around to the different jobs I enjoy doing. I’ve been given responsibilities at various levels in a short span of time and am valued as an employee; I would recommend it to other graduates.
