Synthetic Environments Engineers (12 month placement)
Locations: Stevenage & Bristol
Start Date: September 2010
Both junior and senior Synthetic Environment Engineers are required to fulfil existing and future contracts in the development of some of the world's most advanced future defence systems.
Responsibilities
As part of our team, you'll be actively involved in developing software components and toolsets that play a key role in battlefield simulations, and you'll be working in close collaboration with subject matter experts from across Land, Sea and Air defence programmes.
You will be responsible for researching new technologies, designing leading-edge solutions and integrating those solutions into defence markets. No two days are the same and you'll be equally at home working with your closest colleagues, customer representatives and military personnel.
Whilst the majority of your work will be based in Bristol or Stevenage, you'll also be required to travel to other locations within the UK and Europe.
Academic Qualifications
An appropriate Engineering Degree or Masters.
Experience Requirements
Ideally you will have experience of:
- Software Engineering
- C, C++, C#
- Networking & Networking Protocols
- Knowledge and experience of the following would be advantageous:
- DIS, HLA, TENA Protocols
- Visualisation Programming: DirectX, OpenGL, Graphics/Games Engines
- Java, .Net
- Real-time software development
- Systems Engineering
- Military Communications & Datalinks
- Database Development
- UML
- Programme Management
