Responsibilities
Development of mechanical components or systems.
Works in Daventry Mechanical Development engineering department reporting to the Mechanical Development Engineering Manager.
Working with a dedicated department mentor the student will gain experiences in structural design and development of a given component or system involving applying standard practices/techniques, analyzing/correlating data, recognizing discrepancies in results, following established procedures and operations, documenting results.
Work includes problem definition via working with Service/customers, failure analysis, analysis of data, comparative analysis, procurement, bench testing, development engine testing of components and systems, interfacing with manufacturing/purchasing, product release.
Function experience will be gained in the following areas:
- Engine System Problem Solving
- Engine Performance
- Engine Design
- Design of Experiments
- Lubrication Systems
- Cooling Systems
- Test Cell Operation
- Engine Test Development
Training Provided
