Siemens Molecular Imaging - Software Test Graduate Placement

Duration: Immediate start - 12 Month Placement

Location: Oxford

Siemens Molecular Imaging, part of Siemens Healthcare, is a pioneer in the development of new medical scanners, imaging techniques and applications.  The software written in Oxford processes the images from SPECT, PET and CT scanners and enables doctors to visalise the biology of diseases such as cancer, heart-disease and dementia.

We are currently looking for a Graduate to join our advance application software test team which is based in the heart of Oxford.

The job of the Test team in Molecular Imaging is to ensure that released products meet the high standards required in the medical industry.  This includes understanding clinical and technical requirements, designing and executing tests, and investigating and evaluating any defects found.

The internship will last for 12 months and during that time the candidate would have the opportunity to work as part of the test team which interfaces with areas including requirements engineering, software development, project management and quality.

Skills & Experience Required

The skills and experience that we are looking for are:

  • Ability to rapidly understand existing software
  • Proven aptitude in IT/Computing (ideally to degree level)
  • Amenable, friendly, good team player with an ability to work independently
  • Ability to pick up new skills and apply quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Well organised and good attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic interest in medical imaging

Some or all of the following:

  • Experience of test tools or scripting tools
  • Experience of Windows OS configuration, software installation and maintenance

We work in a friendly open-plan office in the centre of Oxford very close to the train and bus stations. There are 7 people in the testing team and approx. 65 employees based at Oxford.

Educational Requirements

  • Degree: Must have graduated in an analytical degree, for example: Geography, Mathematics, Economics, Medical Science, Chemistry, Physics, IT.
  • Degree classification: 2.2 result or above achieved.

Please note that this is a testing role and the job holder will be performing this role for the duration of the placement.  There is no coding or software development involved.  It is a hands-on position using software and is not a development role.
