The careers website for engineering students

Engineering students can find jobs, graduate programmes, work placements and internships with the biggest and best engineering employers.

For Employers

About us

Gradcracker is the only mainstream graduate recruitment media which focuses purely on engineering students.

It was developed and launched in October 2007 by a team of experienced engineering graduate recruiters who saw a need for a specialist careers site for engineering students.

Gradcracker is now widely acknowledged to be ‘the careers website for engineering students’ and is the number one graduate recruitment vehicle for most of the UK’s leading engineering employers.

Website guide

Each advertiser has a comprehensive microsite which carries full details of its work placement and graduate programmes. Advertisers can also add photography, video and audio podcasts.

Employers typically book for a 12 month period, usually from September 1st to August 31st to reflect the academic year.

Gradcracker monitors all traffic to and from the employer microsite and provides the advertiser with detailed statistical analysis on a monthly basis. Microsites can be refreshed as often as an advertiser wishes without charge.

Special features

Gradcracker is determined to be the front-runner in terms of technical innovation - we are an engineering based site after all.

Whilst we never forget that we are primarily a careers site, we continue to add new features to capture the imagination and loyalty of our engineering students.

A state-of-the-art search facility, a gallery of images from our visits to universities, blogs and the ability to create a personal profile area are just some of the extra features on Gradcracker.

On campus

Creating a strong brand awareness on campus is a key factor behind Gradcracker’s success. Our university liaison team is now entirely field-based and travels the length and breadth of the UK visiting universities.

We get a tremendous response from the careers advisors because they like our personal approach and realise that we make their job easier. We email our university contacts with our latest news and they are glad to forward it on to their engineering students.

As well as meeting careers advisors, we attend careers fairs, host seminars and present skills sessions - often accompanied by Gradcracker employers. Every engineering student we meet receives one of our Gradcracker t-shirts - tens of thousands of these fashion items now distinguish engineering students from their less well-dressed fellows.

About our visitors

Engineering students like Gradcracker because it is so evidently built just for them. They can visit the site, search for jobs and even apply for them without having to register. (Many do choose to register. It’s free and registering enables them to get our latest e-newsletter, upload their CVs and create a personalised section within ‘my gradcracker’.)

They can search by specific discipline - not just by the term ‘engineer’. Most graduate careers websites seem to think that there is little difference between an aerospace engineering graduate and a civil engineering graduate!

The result is that visitor numbers are growing exponentially - our latest visitor statistics are shown in the top right hand corner of this page.
