Graduate opportunities in IMI Critical Engineering, IMI Precision Engineering and IMI Hydronic Engineering (where you join us will depend on your language skills and work eligibility, you can get more details on our website)
You’re never too far away from an IMI product. Where performance is critical we provide the solution, from the precision flow technologies that are relied on by mass transit systems to the flow control systems that deliver energy efficient heating and cooling in buildings around the world.
We have big ideas and a very big vision: over the next five years we want to double our profits. Having such an ambitious goal means we’re keen to attract the very best engineering graduates from around the globe. If you’re one of them, you’ll enjoy the outstanding support you need to fulfil your true potential.
Reflecting our broad range of engineering innovation, our two-year graduate programme offers a uniquely diverse experience. You’ll undertake different rotations, getting exposure to a range of projects and locations around the world. Across various areas including R&D, Production, Project Management, Technology and Sales, you’ll work on live projects, taking on real responsibility and experiencing the product lifecycle end-to-end. This is going to give you a fantastic platform from which to build your long-term career with us.
In 2015, all 30 graduates will join IMI in September. That’s when your programme will start and over the course of the two years, you’ll gain a detailed understanding of the division, its technologies and the market in which it operates.
Not only will you have (or be expecting) a good Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Manufacturing engineering degree, you’ll have a demonstrable passion for engineering innovation and a CV that demonstrates your previous work experience (it could be paid, such as a placement or internship) or voluntary (you might have helped a student organisation or a charity). You should also be hungry to build a career on the international stage – you’ll undertake at least one international placement. If you have all of that along with excellent written and spoken English, the right to work in the country you’re applying to (we have opportunities in several) and fluency in the language of that country, you definitely have what it takes to succeed at IMI.
Our recruitment process has four stages. Initially, you’ll need to make an online application. If you’re successful, you’ll be asked to undertake online logical and numerical reasoning tests. Do well in these, and there’ll be a telephone interview. You’ll need to treat this as seriously as you would a face-to-face interview. The final stage is a one-day assessment centre.
