Our Work Placements are currently closed.

to be alerted when open.

We offer either 3 month summer placement or 18 month industrial placement opportunities in our Engineering department.

The placements give you the opportunity to put some of the engineering principles learned into practice on real projects. Initially there will be some intensive training in Leeds on the systems and products specific to our Plant. You will be placed in one of our engineering teams, where you will be mentored and coached.

Most of our Interns are offered sponsorship for the remaining years at University, before hopefully being offered one of our Graduate Design Engineer positions after successfully completing your degree.

What we want from you

Successful candidates will have:

  • A desire to work towards a career within Cameron
  • Successfully completed your first year at University
  • A strong work ethic, innovation and a high degree of motivation.
  • The ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities.

On top of this we ask that you demonstrate you are on course for a 2:1 or above in a Mechanical Engineering degree - preferably MEng but we also welcome applicants from Automotive Engineering.

What we offer in return

In return you will receive a competitive wage. We also enhance your learning and development throughout your placement, giving you the experience and work ethic to enhance your prospects of achieving more on your return to University.

Your time in Cameron will count towards your application for Chartership, and you will be introduced to our MPDS scheme. The bursary we offer to students who go on to be sponsored is £1,500 per annum, rising in the final year of study to £2,000 per annum.
