The Role

Production comprises the distillation and maturation processes required to produce whisky, with most sites based in Speyside in the North of Scotland. As a Production Operations Graduate you will gain hands on experience in distilleries and will develop an in-depth understanding of the whisky production process. You will be involved in a variety of projects including site upgrades and the delivery and installation of new equipment such as new spirit stills. Further projects could include civil projects on new warehouses or site energy and water usage analysis to contribute to Chivas Brothers sustainability goals. For the duration of the scheme, you will be based at one of our sites in Speyside; however, you may be provided the opportunity to complete projects at sites across the central belt.

Manufacturing involves the bottling and distribution of Whisky with graduates completing placements within Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, Safety & Quality, New Packaging Development, Engineering and as a Team Leader within a Bottling Hall. You will gain hands-on experience of the processes required to ensure our high-quality products reach our customers all over the world. Manufacturing Operations Graduates will primarily be based in Glasgow; however, may be given the opportunity to complete placements at sites in the North of Scotland and at Pernod Ricard affiliates abroad.

Throughout the programme you will have exposure to a variety of projects and work experience such as:

  • Improving operational efficiencies of key assets such as high-speed bottling lines or at a malt distillery
  • Identifying opportunities to improve business processes
  • Energy and sustainability projects
  • Project management
  • Team leadership experience
  • New product line trials.

All of this will be underpinned with a comprehensive training and development programme.
