TfL Property Development plays a key role in shaping London. TfL owns a 5,700 acres estate that includes land and properties, with huge potential for creating the homes and jobs the Capital needs. Our landholdings can play a vital role in meeting the Mayor's priorities to build affordable homes, while generating revenue to re-invest in improving our transport network.
London is one of the world’s most exciting and vibrant cities. We work hard to ensure millions of people can travel safely and reliably. With major investment in our transport system and the infrastructure that supports it, we’re doing everything we can to keep our city moving, working and growing.
We’re committed to creating a fairer, greener, healthier and more prosperous city.
You’ll be a Planning and Development Assistant in the Planning and Development team; helping realise Mayoral objectives to deliver new homes, affordable housing, high quality place making and income generation through the development of TfL property.
You’ll undertake planning research, appraise potential development sites and opportunities, review planning policy, provide planning advice to colleagues and generally support the progression of development schemes. Whilst you’ll be part of the Planning team, the role will also provide opportunities for you to gain experience of other roles in property development.
You’ll work closely with other parts of TfL, the GLA, local authorities, developers, consultants, and other key stakeholders. You’ll make a valuable contribution to exciting and innovative proposals in London, which are often of national significance, helping you develop your understanding of the planning and the development process.
Location: London (there might be some hybrid working involved depending on a placement)
We’re looking for people who are interested in planning, development and regeneration, and are passionate about making London a better place through sustainable development. If you have drive and motivation, a willingness to learn, and a desire to deliver an excellent service to our stakeholders, then this will be a great opportunity for you.
This one year immersive and stimulating opportunity will provide you a chance to apply your studies and theory in a real life situation, understanding the challenges involved in planning and development. You’ll gain an insight into what it’s like to work on development projects from feasibility to planning application stage, which are often exemplar schemes that use best practice and innovative approaches.
You’ll experience developing in an ever-changing city, with a wide variety of demands and requirements, giving you both the knowledge and transferrable skills to succeed.
Please note, this role does not lead into a graduate scheme at TfL.
This is a hands-on role; you’ll have the opportunity to work on your own projects and there’s a fair balance between autonomy and support, with a fantastic team on hand to mentor and assist you.
We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
