Our Industrial Placements programme is structured to bring out the very best in you and give you the opportunity to excel in a commercial, engineering or environmental sciences role, working alongside the very best people in the business.
You will be trusted with individual responsibility from day one in a complex and demanding role, primarily within Risk, Analytics, Finance, Project Engineering or our Health, Environment & Communities (HSEC) department. This approach equips our Industrial Placements with the highest levels of professionalism, personal ownership and commercial aptitude - the key ingredients for a successful career with Glencore.

Our risk managers work closely with front line traders and operators. Risk managers maintain physical and derivative exposure whilst assessing the accuracy and validity of mark-to-markets in order to produce profit and loss reports and risk metrics. They provide analysis ensuring that hedging is executed in line with our trading team’s strategy.
Accuracy, confidence and exceptional analytical skills are key attributes in this area of our business. As a key member of the trading team, excellent communication and relationship management skills are required to maintain an independent view whilst also adding value by providing accurate data directly to the trading desk.
We are looking for undergraduate university students who are completing a degree with a year in industry.
Numerical aptitude is important, as is the ability to work well in a team and to think and act independently. We look for people with language skills and cultural awareness as diversity is integral to our business.
