Forming part of the Biotechnology segment at Danaher, we bring together dedicated technical expertise and talent to develop the next generation of life-changing therapeutics.

We have an excellent undergraduate placement for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual. If successful, you will join the Lab Filtration R&D team at Harbourgate, Portsmouth UK for 13 months. The group’s focus is on new product development for Biotechnology research industries.

This placement will allow you to implement and develop your engineering knowledge and skills to assist the team by providing engineering support.

What you will do:

  • CAD and general engineering support (training provided).
  • Prototype product design and manufacture.
  • Generating and interpreting prototype testing results.
  • Writing technical reports and presentations.
  • Partake in problem solving and brainstorming sessions.
  • Coordinate schedule with team members and provide support when required.

Who You Are:

  • You are working towards a degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Passion for research and development with the curiosity for leading technologies in the laboratory industry.
  • Experience with 3D CAD preferred.
  • Plan and manage own workload to agreed deadlines.
  • Takes a considered and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Remains calm and organised under pressure.
  • Comfortable with changing plans to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrate initiative and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Able to apply a working knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
