This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of Agilent’s dynamic and successful sales team as an entry level Account Manager. In this role you will develop expertise and technical knowledge to grow the spectroscopy business. You will be responsible for selling the full portfolio of ICP-MS, ICP-OES, UV/Vis, FTIR and Raman instrumentation into all markets.

The territory will be London and the south-east, including the M4 corridor. This will be an office/field based hybrid role, based from our Harwell Molecular Spectroscopy Centre of Excellence near Oxford. You will work very closely with the chromatography account manager to develop and support business in the academia and biopharma sectors.

Together you will proactively develop and implement a successful sales strategy to exceed target. As an integral member of the UK Sales team, you will focus on acquiring new customers, while maintaining and growing the existing installed base. As part of this team, you will be supported by Product Specialists and Application Engineers.

Account Manager Primary Responsibilities:

  • Achieve all sales targets around quota and sales forecasts.
  • Responsible for developing customer relationships and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively prospect for new customers and new opportunities.
  • Selling the full spectroscopy portfolio.
  • Understand customer needs and identifying solutions to create business opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with your service and consumables teams
  • Provide rigor around CRM updates, expense reporting, and other required business processes.
  • Consistently demonstrate Agilent Core Values of: Innovation and Contribution, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, Uncompromising Integrity, Speed, Focus and Accountability.


  • Recently graduated with a degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other applied science fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A strong motivation to work in technical sales and overachieve in a dynamic commercial environment.
  • The successful candidate will be a self-assured, people orientated, proactive person who works well autonomously and as part of a team. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Clean current full UK driving licence.

  • Evidence of previous work in a sales environment.
  • A demonstrable desire to learn the technical aspects of the instrumentation, application workflows and selling skills.
