Examples of what you could be involved in as part of the graduate scheme:

  • Learning the fundamentals and principles of food manufacturing and food safety & quality.
  • Building collaborative relationships with teams across the supply chain.
  • Supporting and assessing operational performance optimisation on production lines.
  • Getting a rounded experience of the whole manufacturing cycle in different sites.
  • Opportunity to be assigned specific accountabilities of a Team Leader/Shift Manager.
  • Opportunity to get involved in different Capital Projects and the Capex agenda from ideation through to delivery and final handover. Projects can fall under the category of Cost Reduction, Essential Replacement, Environment, Safety, Quality Assurance and Corporate Strategy.
  • Opportunity to work in specific areas such as Health & Safety where you will work collaboratively with the relevant team members to maintain equipment, improve Health & Safety, and achieve efficiency targets.
  • Opportunity to work with the planning team creating production plans which maximise line availability, including planning equipment, materials, and labour to ensure the production plan is achieved on time. 
  • Supporting a range of local site initiatives.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a highly driven and talented graduate to come and join our Supply Chain team at our Trafford Site. At Westmill Trafford you will learn the fundamentals of food manufacturing, you will build effective, collaborative relationships with the production, technical, engineering, planning, and process development teams around you.

You will be assigned real responsibilities and have fantastic personal development support as well as career enhancing networking opportunities along the way. We will offer regular opportunity to rotate across different roles in your first couple of years with us, likely to be on a 6-monthly basis. What you’ll need

In addition to a 2:1 degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Supply Chain Management we look for:
