Shift Analyst

Sterling Pharma Solutions currently have an opportunity for a Shift Analyst to join their QC Analytical team.

Reporting directly to the QC Shift Lab Team Leader you will be responsible for performing analysis and reporting the results. This role is a shift role to support our 24/7 operation and will involve working a shift pattern of 12-hour days and nights with annual leave and rest days built into the shift plan.


  • Performing analysis and report results in accordance with cGMP requirements for laboratory operations.
  • Investigating analytical deviations and out of specification results with appropriate rigour and to contribute to their root cause resolution.
  • Performing calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment.
  • Performing routine auditing of laboratory areas.
  • Carrying out assigned SAP transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prioritising in-process, raw materials, intermediate and final product analysis out of hours.
  • Releasing raw materials and building block final products which have no deviations or out of specification results.
  • Supporting cGMP stability programs.
  • Characterising reference materials for use in cGMP analysis.
  • Developing, evaluating and preparing analytical methods and SOPs as required.
  • Ensuring cGMP/GLP compliance.
  • Liaising with manufacturing, technical and operational quality personnel on relevant aspects of compliance and analytical atypicality.
  • Complying with all safety, health, and environmental requirements.

Requirements for the role

  • Must have a degree in Chemistry or other relevant scientific discipline.
  • Practical experience of analytical chemistry, particularly chromatography.
  • Previous experience of HPLC and GC techniques is essential.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible and able to manage changing priorities.
