About the event

Ready to get a head start in your career? We are hosting the first ever First Year Insight Event from 23rd – 25th June 2021, which will enable you to discover more about life inside Atkins – we’ll also be able to equip you with the tools to start navigating your career – as well as the opportunity to expand your professional network, and learn some invaluable key skills needed to work in a consulting environment.

Our first Virtual Insights Event is designed specifically for first year students studying Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Surveying degree disciplines. During the event, you can expect to:

  • Learn about our business, our projects, and our culture – it’s a fantastic opportunity to get a glimpse into what it’s really like to work with us 
  • Get ready to network – you’ll be meeting some of our graduates, leaders and Early Careers recruitment team, all great professional contacts to make at this early stage of your career 
  • Develop transferable skills, such as project management and presentation advice – great to add to your CV and to help you secure future opportunities  
  • Participate in a team activity – a chance to use your team working skills around a key topic    
  • Gain an understanding of the potential career pathways we could offer you as a graduate 

In line with current government guidance and our commitment to your safety, this event will be run virtually from 23rd – 25th June 2021. Please note as this is a work experience insights event rather than a placement, it is offered on an unpaid basis.

About you

To be eligible for our Insight Event, you’ll need to:

  • Be in your first year of a Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Surveying degree at a UK university (or equivalent related discipline area) 
  • Be interested in finding out more about a career in a consultancy 
  • Have an interest and ability to adapt to the changing world, and new technologies  
  • Be curious in your thinking and apply your technical knowledge to create innovative solutions 
  • Be interested in how you could work as part of a multidisciplinary team 
  • Have access to a computer/laptop with Microsoft Teams installed
