You will be responsible for the delivery of projects from initial enquiry through to design, manufacture, implementation on client’s site, handover and finally lessons learned in a wide range of industries including Brewing, Distillation and Pharmaceutical. You may be working with one high complexity project or a collection of less complex projects so the ability to plan well and manage risk and opportunity is key.

Briggs of Burton (Briggs) have transformed there headquarters into a brand-new Global Technical Centre.
Responsible for a wide variety of Electrical Engineering activities to assist the Company as a whole and the Briggs of Burton Automation team specifically.
To provide Electrical engineering design, proactive Electrical Engineering services to the Briggs Group of companies in all aspects of the business. Majority of this being through exceptional delivery of large-scale capital projects (£2m+) but also including support of sales & proposals, business development, process/project engineering and general project execution.
The role & Responsibilities
Management responsibilities
Must ensure both Briggs of Burton and Client Health & Safety standards are upheld across all project engineering through supporting the Health, Safety & Quality Manager.
Assist Engineers, Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers in delivery of allocated client proposals and projects within contract scope, with due respect to safety, cost, time and quality.
Tasks and Duties
Performs tasks with supervision and guidance. Performs routine tasks; some responsibility, assisting with:
Ensure both Briggs of Burton and Client Health & Safety standards are upheld across all business activities through supporting the Health, Safety & Quality Manager.
Be an active member of the Electrical Engineering team.
Willingness to progress to be lead & manage other electrical engineers on projects to deliver required engineering outputs
Actively mentoring and developing the graduate and apprentice electrical engineers
Act as a positive role model and provide leadership within the business ensuring professional standards are maintained.
Manage quality, completeness, consistency and accuracy of deliverables necessary for the completion of assigned projects
Lead electrical engineer on Projects including design/engineering deliverables, site supervision and commissioning.
Ensure progress, changes, costs, issues etc. are communicated to the PM regularly and appropriately.
Attendance at both UK and overseas project sites as agreed with your Line Manager/ Director to suit the needs and demands of projects.
Assist PM with positive Client relationship
Liaison and assistance with the overall Briggs project team, Client team and third-party suppliers.
Management of electrical contracts on time and budget including tender preparation, part of the negotiations team, and award.
Engineering of project deliverables associated with the electrical works.
Typical Project Deliverables
Electrical and instrumentation design, supplier liaison, tendering and procurement.
Control and MCC panel design, tendering and procurement.
Electrical installation design and implementation.
Specification of digital and analogue instrumentation
PLC Hardware design, tendering and procurement.
Preparation of drawings and schedules for an overall electrical scheme using ePlan, AutoCAD, intelligent P&ID/Database.
Monitor electrical design and installation quality throughout project.
Supervision of electrical installation works.
Develop and monitor project programmes.
Testing and commissioning of electrical, control and instrumentation including fault finding and basic rectification.
Finalise, check and issue ‘as installed’ documentation.
Generate project reports to your Line Manager.
Assisting the electrical engineering and automation department
Ensuring all required national/international standards are worked to and wherever necessary/required adherence to client specifications.
Being part of or leading a Briggs of Burton commissioning team.
Assisting the Briggs of Burton commissioning team.
Onsite training of client operatives as required.
Being familiar with ATEX/SIL/Machinery safety.
Desired Knowledge & Experience
Education:
Electrical Engineering Degree or HND or HNC, preferably MIET
Master’s Degree Preferable
Prepared to work towards IEng or CEng status
Language – English (any foreign language skills could be considered beneficial)
Professional experience:
Preferably a minimum of 1-year experience in Engineering as part of degree course or other.
Preferably knowledge of engineering within hygienic process industries
Understanding of Briggs products and engineering services
Technical skills:
MS office also proficient in Excel, Access, Microsoft Project.

Remarks:
International and national travel will be an essential part of the role, this would be both regular travel for business meetings, also extended periods of time associated with project work as and when required to meet the Business, Client and Project needs
