We now seek a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to be based in our London, Bicester or Newcastle office.

Role Responsibilities

Join our structured programme designed to develop your technical and business skills, preparing you for a successful career as an Engineer. Throughout your journey, you will work across different sectors that will challenge while giving you the opportunity to excel in your field. This role will include but not limited to:

  • Design & Engineering: Take on project responsibilities, assisting with the preparation of engineering designs for installation. Including the generation of calculations, schedules, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
  • Specialist Software: Use of specialist engineering and design software to inform the design process.
  • Health & Safety: Undergo appropriate safety training and continuous development to ensure designs are safe to install, commission, operate, maintain and decommission throughout the facilities lifecycle.
  • Site Visits & Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Research: Conduct independent reading and research to ensure the accuracy of the design and compliance with appropriate standards. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with senior engineers across all disciplines and project managers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of project documentation. Including coordinating with the client team, design team and other contractors.
  • Document Management: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Ensure all document management requirements are met, including correct filing of documents and compliance with data management processes.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and professional development through RED’s structured graduate programme.

Role Requirements

  • BSC/BEng (or equivalent) in appropriate engineering discipline
  • Working towards MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent
  • Working towards Chartered Eng status
  • Basic working knowledge of CAD functionality
  • Basic understanding of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc.
  • Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Previous experience in consulting or construction preferred.
  • Understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
