Alex Nock

Head of Engineering

My journey with RED started in 2009 as part of a summer placement scheme for my  Master's degree. Later that year I graduated from the University of Southampton with an  MSc in Management Science & Finance and a BEng in Electromechanical Engineering and  joined RED as a graduate mechanical engineer.

Throughout my time at RED I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to a wide range  of projects and experiences to grow my professional career. As a graduate, I worked across  the Commercial and Sustainability teams, before getting involved with the Mission Critical  sector.

It was in the Mission Critical sector where I found my passion for design, in driving energy  efficiency whilst maintaining resilience in the design of critical cooling systems for Data  Centres. Implementing good engineering practices to reduce the total cost of ownership  over the lifetime of the design. I have worked on a variety of projects within the Data  Centre Sector; from the design and implementation of critical infrastructure upgrades in a  live environment through to management and design delivery for 100+MW Data Centre  Campus. With this, I have gathered a wide range of experience in data centre operating My journey with RED started in 2009 as part of a summer placement scheme for my  Master's degree.
