Systems Engineering

We ensure our clients’ systems remain reliable, work well when their partner systems change and don’t switch from being a solution to being a problem. Over two to four years, you’ll spend time in our offices and at customer sites learning all about the different roles we play. Systems Engineering is one of our programmes that requires a 2:1 accredited degree in a relevant subject.

Where you can join us

Places on our Systems Engineering graduate programme for Autumn 2018 are available within our Marine (Bristol or Leicester) and Marine (Plymouth or Keynsham [Bristol]) sectors. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

What you'll be doing

When you’re trying to anticipate what might happen as a system develops, you need to look at the big picture and zoom in on the tiny details. And when you’re dealing with systems as complex as submarines or whole communications networks, that’s quite an undertaking. So over the course of two to four years, you’ll spend time in our offices and at customer sites learning all about the different roles we play.

What you'll get out of it

The range of work you’ll cover will help you figure out what you excel at. And once you know that, we’ll help you go as far as you can. We’ll support you as you work to become an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer and give you a competitive starting salary of £28k-£30k.*

What you'll need

You’ll need a 2:1 BEng (Hons) degree. And because the programme is accredited by the IMechE and IET, your degree will need to be accredited by one of those too. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).

*Depending on location, role and qualifications.
