We are the UK’s leading nuclear services company. Cavendish Nuclear, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Babcock International Group, is involved in complex projects across the span of the nuclear lifecycle. Your work could range from the design, build and working-life extensions of existing nuclear plants to the safe decommissioning and remediation of legacy sites. You could be providing radiological instrumentation or specialist measurements of on-site nuclear material. No matter what, you’ll receive an incomparable breadth of experiences.
Some of Babcock's placement students and graduates share their reasons for applying to Babcock. To watch the full Gradcracker/Babcock webinar click here.
You’ll be based in our radiometric instrument laboratories at Sellafield in Cumbria for the four years of your programme. In that time, you’ll design, test, calibrate and take care of the instrumentation that measures all types of radiation for our clients’ sites around the world. This will give you all the experience you need to get your head around the technical detail and develop an understanding of how this part of our business contributes to our success.
When you’re part of the team at Cavendish Nuclear, we think it’s only right that you’re properly rewarded for the contribution you make and the hard work you put in. That’s why, in addition to a highly competitive salary, you can look forward to generous pension and employee share schemes, and a whole host of other flexible benefits.
These include things like access to our healthcare cash plan, Wellbeing Centre and discounts on everything from gym membership and travel to retail, dining and entertainment. You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our STEM outreach and volunteering activities, which our graduates find incredibly rewarding in all sorts of other ways.
