About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Securities Trader (known externally as a FX Trader).

This is an exciting new opportunity. The successful candidate will be based in London and will join a Global FX and Rates Trading Team to make markets in G10 STIRT products, Cross currency and Non-$ Linear Rates to our Corporate and Institutional Sales Force.

They will be responsible for maintaining accurate pricing curves for streaming, deal profitably for the Bank and adhere to their risk limits. They will work closely with the Global Sales team, providing insightful market colour, will be available for direct client interaction and will be able to contribute to the strategic direction of the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Quote markets to customers/marketers in G10 products, incl FX Swaps, XCCY and linear rates
  • Maintain accurate pricing curves for streaming and manage dealer intervention for non risk engine trades
  • Manage risk accurately, profitably and adhering to risk mandates
  • Provide support to senior traders across the short and long end Non-USD Rates books and work closely with the global team
  • Assist senior traders to develop the business and achieve regional and global targets
  • Provide market commentary/insights to Sales teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Securities Trading, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in sciences or finance, although post-graduate degree is preferred
  • Previous experience in markets is required, previous knowledge of trading systems is an advantage
  • Strong analytical/technical skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel/VBA is required. Further coding skills/experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Expectations:

This position is deemed to be a Certified Person function under the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. You must at all times remain fit and proper to perform your role, and this will be assessed on at least an annual basis.
