The seeker is “the eyes” of every Missile; not just a collection of sensors, but a sophisticated integrated system of Hardware and Software which detects, identifies, and tracks targets. The seeker often contains the most advanced technology in the Missile, and usually comprises around half of the development effort of our products!

The Seekers department is responsible for the design, development, integration and production of all radar seekers, including multi-mode seekers (combining radar (RF) and electro-optic sensors). Our work is especially broad, as we look after all aspects of the seeker subsystem.

"The point of an internship is for you to learn"

Alice Baird, Systems Test Analyst, describes what you can expect from an internship with MBDA. Find out what Alice got up to, and what she got out of it! To watch the full Gradcracker/MBDA webinar, click here.

What will you be doing?

  • New business and bid management.

This will build on your knowledge from university, but also give you an experience which is well beyond ordinary, as well as expertise in a highly technical and valuable field. We also work closely with many other teams, giving you exposure to many areas across the industry. As an Anglo-Italian department working on multinational projects, we offer placements working with other nations from the UK.

Following this Summer Placement many are offered roles on our Graduate schemes or a Summer Placement for the following year.
