You will provide consultant support to clients of TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies, in the field of spent fuels management, radioactive waste management and nuclear decommissioning.
This role will help you broaden your skills within the nuclear decommissioning industry, as well as deepen your awareness and understanding of spent fuels management at Sellafield. There may also be opportunities to support the commercial manager in the development of bids and other aspects of business development (BD).

Your qualifications
Responsibilities:
Desk-based consultancy services:
Authoring of R&D project summaries
Preparation of Invitations to Tender (ITT)
Independent technical review of complex R&D papers
Development of technology roadmaps (spent fuels, encapsulants)
Stakeholder engagement sessions
Support to technical reports
Ad-hoc support to nuclear new build tasks
Commercial and BD activities:
Presentations to clients and TÜV SÜD staff
Preparation of bids, requests for information (RFI) and other commercial support
Development/updating of TÜV SÜD systems, policies and procedures
Education and Experience
Minimum of a Science or Engineering undergraduate degree in a related subject (e.g., Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Geology)
Qualification to Masters or PhD is advantageous, but not essential
Experience in nuclear or non-nuclear industrial experience is advantageous, but not essential
Specific skills, knowledge, competencies and training
Essential:
A motivated “self-starter” who is able to work independently
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a variety of teams
A desire to continue professional development and work outside of comfort zone
Competent in the use of MS Word and MS Excel
Nuclear industry knowledge, specifically spent fuel management
Awareness of waste disposal arrangements
Desirable:
Membership, or working towards membership of a professional body (i.e., CChem, CSci, CPhys, CEng)
Awareness of project management
