PBA's technical assessment of transport, flood risk, air quality and noise supported the Barclaycard Arena in achieving full planning permission for its first modernisation since it opening in 1991.
The £20m refurbishment aims to make the Barclaycard Arena more accessible physically and visually, and features a new showcase entrance straight from Brindley Place into the arena, maximising the views over the canal and the city.
PBA worked with the project team to assess the current noise climate through daytime and night-time surveys and to highlight options to mitigate potential impacts.
PBA has helped Center Parcs secure planning permission for a proposed 395-acre village in County Longford in the Republic of Ireland. The new location, to be known as Longford Forest and scheduled to be open by 2019, will be the sixth Center Parcs UK Limited village and a first for Ireland.
Plans include 470 lodges, 30 apartments, more than 100 indoor and outdoor family activities, a range of restaurants and shops, an Aqua Sana spa, and the Subtropical Swimming Paradise.
PBA was commissioned to deliver an extensive 25,000sq m area of public realm for this multi-billion pound regeneration project, incorporating new utilities, a new bridge across Regent's Canal, hard and soft landscaping and refurbishment of the canal towpath.
Together, these new structures create a vibrant new canalside development.
