PBA as an Employer

Welcome to PBA, now part of Stantec. We’re a leading consultancy of engineers, planners, scientists, and economists delivering major development and infrastructure projects. We like to think we are at the forefront of cutting edge consultancy, delivering exceptional value for our clients and for our people. There’s some strong evidence to back that claim, too:

  • RIBA South Award for Thames Tower, submitted by dn-a Architects 2018
  • Berkshire Employer of the Year 2018
  • Cristina Howick (Director - Planning Policy and Evidence) named one of The Planner’s 2018 ‘Women of Influence’
  • Small Scale Consultancy of the Year 2018
  • Green Park retains Biodiversity Benchmark.

PBA was founded on principles of innovation. Peter Brett himself developed the parallel beam approach and founded his company on the idea. Fifty years on, our people are still encouraged to think beyond our current projects and develop and lead innovative ideas to improve the industry. From Town Centre Investment Management, to Building Infrastructure: Achieving Growth, to numerous engineering patents and the implementation of Archimedes screws with Thames Water, our people are revolutionising the way we work for our clients and the industry as a whole.

Our people consistently remark that they appreciate how approachable everyone is, regardless of who they are. PBA is a place where you aren’t just a cog in the wheel; you’re a valued team member, rewarded for your efforts and supported through your career.

At PBA, we have always liked having the freedom to make our own decisions, not being held to someone else’s corporate strategy, and being able to decide our own future..

Beyond the desk, our numerous sports and social clubs provide opportunities to interact socially with your colleagues through shared interests such as badminton, boat racing, photography or fancy dress. If there isn’t a PBA club that meets your interests, you can even pitch a professional or social idea in our annual Dragon’s Den competition to receive funding and support.

Graduate Development Programme

Our Graduate Development Programme isn’t just focused on career development, but also on building a network of people at a similar stage in their career.

The programme offers a range of activities, including a graduate induction networking event, assignment of a business mentor, business skills training, site visits and other professional development activities. As part of this programme, we encourage all our graduates to follow a formal training scheme with their appropriate professional institution.
