Amey - what we do

Our team of 17,000 works across four continents – making us a leading supplier of consulting and infrastructure support services both in the UK and internationally.

The role

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto the Digital Degree Apprenticeship where you still study for a BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions with a recognised Training Provider. Your Degree Apprenticeship typically takes 3.5 years to complete and is fully supported through a combination of face-to-face lectures, e-learning materials, and access to the University’s team of specialist lecturers and Coaches for 1-2-1 advice and support.

Within Amey, you’ll be partnered with a “buddy” to assist you as you settle into your new role, helping answer all those initial questions you may have. Once you’ve settled in, you will be allocated a mentor who will support you throughout your Degree Apprenticeship, helping you develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.

Our Apprentice programme at Amey will challenge and inspire you to reach your full potential and build your career. Afterwards? Well, it’s just the start of an exciting career full of amazing opportunities as you progress through our Career Development Framework, starting with a role as Assistant Engineer.

Throughout your programme, you will receive a structured learning and development programme to enable your professional and personal development. You’ll get hands-on experience while collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry. Yes, you’ll learn from them, but they expect to learn from you too.

The results of our Degree Apprenticeship  are so rewarding - whether that’s through your professional development, your growth as an individual or seeing your input really make a difference. But don’t just take our word for it, Rebecca Brenna, who is one of our current Degree Apprentices had this to say:

"Amey’s Apprenticeship program has been a career changer for me and an amazing opportunity to gain education and experience.  The structured career progression makes it so tangible to pursue and Amey is supporting us throughout in every aspect possible. The work experience and the university modules are structured to gradually increase our knowledge. It’s an amazing experience and I’m so thrilled to be part of the programme”

Skills & experience

What will you bring?

One of the best things about an Apprenticeship with us is that you don’t need to have experience or any prior qualifications in this area!

We treat people as individuals. We want a range of abilities, from practicality and problem-solving to precision and creativity. That goes for diversity too. We want a workforce as diverse as the communities we serve and value the experiences that you bring to our business.

We therefore keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:

Minimum Qualifications are:

  • Three A Levels in English, Maths and (ideally) IT; or
  • BTEC National Diploma or Extended Diploma in a related IT subject; or
