Our two-year Graduate Development Programme starts you on a journey to develop your career in a challenging, dynamic and supportive work environment. We’re looking for a Commercial graduate to join our Secure Infrastructure (SI) business. We are the leading specialists in Facilities and Estate Management, looking after thousands of assets on behalf of our clients, in secure environments, such as Education, Law Courts and Higher Education Colleges. We transform the way our clients live, work and travel, helping them optimise their assets through data analytics and intelligent management, to maximise performance, minimise cost and manage risk.

Our Commercial Graduate programme offers a fantastic opportunity for you to take those initial steps in your career and provide you with exposure to a variety of projects and client accounts. Our structured rotation scheme does however mean that flexibility is essential for this role, as whilst you will spend your first year in Glasgow, you’ll need to be based from one of our other locations in England, in year two.

What will this role involve?

  • Work with Operations to develop & implement strategies and framework agreements within the overall supply chain strategy in mind. Participating in monthly contract and tender meetings
  • Supporting the development and delivery of the supply chain vision building supplier relationships and strategy for the Secure Infrastructure business in support of our customer needs and aspirations
  • Contribute to and deliver allocated aspects of the annual supply chain business plan driving through cost and value benefits with the supplier chain

Our fast-track graduate programme will set you on a clear path to achieving excellence in your career. We provide you with the tools to develop your skills and fulfil your potential, enabling you to gain exposure and experience of many different aspects at Amey.

  • As a Commercial Graduate, you’ll gain experience of working alongside our commercial experts and collaborating with wider, multi-disciplinary teams on our contracts including Finance, Legal, HR and HSEQ
  • We’ll develop your skills and knowledge so that you can help ensure our specified project outcomes are delivered, safely, on time, within budget and to the quality required by the Contract
  • A competitive starting salary (£26,500 per year) rising in line with your progress and achievements
  • A structured programme of targeted training and development activities, with a mentor assigned to support you through completion of the Professional Development Scheme designed to help you work towards professional qualification

We therefore try to keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:

  • Minimum 2:2 Degree in either Construction Management, Law or Business Management
  • Flexibility and willingness to relocate and rotate around other offices in the UK
  • Passion for developing your skills both professional and personally with the drive to complete professional registration (Chartership) with the RICS
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and team working capability, combined with excellent communication, written and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan and manage your own time and activities
  • Available to join us at the start of September 2021
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential
