As part of our growing team, you’ll gain invaluable experience alongside our industry experts through a combination of home and office-based working, from either our Edinburgh or Motherwell design hubs.

You’ll be given real responsibility from day-one and have your opinions and design solutions valued whilst collaborating on high-profile projects such as the development of the A96 Dualling East of Huntly to Aberdeen, advanced structural health monitoring on the Forth Road Bridge and Severn Crossings, Bridge design, inspections, assessment and asset management services for Local Authorities throughout Scotland.

We’re also carrying out design of the Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside Project as well as designs for the flood management and urban drainage designs for Glasgow City Council, so there’s no shortage of exciting opportunities to get involved with and really make a difference.

We’ll also support and pay towards a relevant professional qualification.

As a Graduate, you’ll be given real responsibility from day one, gaining invaluable experience working alongside the team to deliver the following:

  • Implement the project requirements to fully meet client specification with relevant standards.
  • Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence.
  • Prepare design calculations drawing and documents.
  • Carry out site visits and surveys, inspections and supervise sub-contractors.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, inspection, assessment and technical reports ensuring compliance with Amey procedures.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and apply this within a team environment.
  • Compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly Construction and Design Management regulations.

As a Graduate, other than your relevant degree, we don’t expect you to bring prior experience with you when you join us; we will give the training and support to lead you to success.

We keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:

  • Minimum 2:2 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Available to join the programme in June 2023
  • A passion and desire to develop yourself
