"I've always loved being active – now I get to spend most of my day working outside."
Every day is different and I’m always learning something new. I’m also faced with fresh challenges – whether from a people management perspective, improving internal business processes, or making sure we are providing the client with everything we have promised them. And I love that 70% of my work is physical/outdoors.
A big attraction for me was that I didn’t need an engineering qualification to work for a company responsible for high profile engineering and infrastructure projects.
I knew there would be plenty of training opportunities too - as well as the programme courses, such as personal development and business skills, I’ve also completed incident investigation training.
I have exposure to senior leaders in the business so I can learn from their expertise and also from other graduates. This gives me a fantastic network of peers which creates a supportive environment for me to grow both personally and professionally.
I have a lot of responsibility which has made me push myself to work harder and be the best I can be.
I feel very lucky to have a Managing Director as a mentor. To learn directly from his knowledge and experience is such a fantastic opportunity. This is helping me to grow in confidence and is a real motivating factor for me to do well.
