The best thing is that the ’Graduate Community’ is really friendly and supportive. There is a large alumni and I can easily talk to people within the business who’ve also completed the Graduate Programme. They have a lot of good experience and advice to learn from.
Graduates are really valued within the company – I really feel like I’m making a difference and contributing towards Amey’s goal of helping to create better places to live, work and travel.
The wide range of services Amey delivers means there are many opportunities available. There are lots of different avenues to grow your career. I’m currently working in the Environmental Services part of the business analysing the routes which commercial waste trucks operate on, to increase optimisation and assess risk.
All graduates at Amey have a mentor – I’ve learnt so much from mine and feel Amey are investing in me. I’m hoping to gain a project management professional qualification so I can be responsible for large scale projects. The programme also provides a wide range of training which is helping me to develop many skills.
DO IT! Amey provides a great place to work and you can carve out your own career. The exposure to senior leaders within the business gives you fantastic learning opportunities. If you work hard and show you’re committed, it is a very rewarding place to work.
