The Application Process

The QinetiQ Early Careers Recruitment process runs annually from September each year.

Stage 1: Application

It is easy as 1.2.3! Simply click on the link to the vacancy or vacancies that you wish to apply for, answer the mandatory questions and then upload your CV and covering letter. Although the covering letter is not mandatory, it is an important part of the recruitment process and we would urge you to use one.

Stage 2: Initial Assessment

Applications will be initially sifted to make sure they meet the entry requirements of the specific role. Any applicants declined at this stage will not receive feedback. Please check the entry requirements closely as we don’t want to turn down any applications as we know how disappointing this can be.

Stage 3: Assessment Stage  

We may ask you a set of questions to respond to via video or written response. We will send you a link to the questions and all the information needed to upload your responses. If you chose not to respond to the questions, you will be declined at this stage. This is not a test and we hope that you will respond to our questions as we want to find out more about you and the videos are used to complement your CV.

Stage 4: Manager Screening

All applications that have progressed through the initial assessment stage will go forward to the hiring manager for their review. Based on the role requirement and the information you have provided this will determine whether you progress to the next stage. Any candidates declined at this stage will not receive feedback.

Stage 5: Interview

Congratulations if you have progressed through to the interview stage. The interviews are competency based and these normally take place face to face but this may vary. All unsuccessful candidates will receive feedback at this stage.

We want you to perform your best at the interview and we try to make this stage as comfortable as we can for you. Any additional requirements will be taken into consideration so please let us know. Good luck.

Stage 6: Offer

Congratulations! If you have made it to this stage then you have been successful in your application and shown us why you are the best for your chosen role. Our Early Careers & HR team will be in contact directly to talk about contracts and next steps.
