Who we are

The Marketing and Communications Function at QinetiQ has a wide remit. There’s a team responsible for marketing and external communications which support the various business units in promoting their products and services to customers. This team is supported by a small Insights Group who develop and write content (reports, articles, blogs, ect.) to convey the value of the QinetiQ offer. There’s also a team responsible for internal communications and ensuring that all QinetiQ employees are keep informed of all the things they need to do their jobs. This includes the company vision and strategy, HR, benefits, contract wins, employee news amongst other things. The function is supported by a digital marketing team who manage all the social media platforms, the website, email marketing and all the marketing automation tools.

Role details

The Marketing and Communications Graduate will take on a wide variety of tasks supporting the function. These will include:

• Supporting the website team with creating and uploading content; analysing effectiveness of web pages and social media posts
• Support to the internal communications team on internal events like employee roadshows (helping to create content, finding customer stories, checking the technology works)
• Supporting the marketing team with finding videos and photos to go with articles; helping to find contributors for podcasts.

Desirable skills & qualifications

• Digital skills and understanding of social media platforms
• Analytical skills and the ability to make recommendations based on data
• Ability to write a variety of content – short social media posts, web site content, articles for a variety of different audiences
• Organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage several projects at the same time.

Required skills & qualifications

• Some knowledge of, or experience with, social media platforms and how they work
• Evidence of an ability to write a variety of content
• Some experience of running or supporting events
• Achieved or on track to achieve a bachelor’s degree or higher degree in a STEM discipline.
