The Analysis, Modelling & Simulation discipline provides data-driven information and advice which gives maximum advantage to our customers through:

We have potential opportunities for Year-in-Industry or Summer Placements in any of the growth areas where we are currently also seeking graduates, namely:

  • Combat and Mission Systems (Malvern, Lincoln, Portsdown)
  • Synthetic Environments and Simulation (Farnborough)

To learn more about the work of the individual teams, you are directed to the Job Descriptions for Graduate Scheme places. Our teams are a blend of mathematicians, scientists and engineers, and we are interested in applications from people studying any of these subjects. In all cases we are looking for people with strong numerical and analytical skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

For your placement you will be embedded in one of the specialist teams (in the case of Year-in-Industry, placements in two different teams may be possible). You will be involved in challenging technical work, which will often be a combination of tasks for an external customer and some internal work of a more R&D nature. You are mainly likely to be supporting one of the established specialists in the team and work under their supervision, but you should also expect to do some independent working with only limited oversight. You will be given ample opportunity to see the wider work of the team you are in and to engage with people from other teams and Disciplines.

Summer placements will almost always be based at a single location, but for Year-in-Industry it may be possible to deploy to another site for a period, for example to participate in a trial.

  • Have a keen interest in technology and engineering;
  • Be IT literate, with knowledge of one or more of Matlab, Simulink, Python, Visual Basic being a definite advantage.
