We are looking for graduates, summer placement & year in industry students wanting a career in cyber, secure communications and IT to join our team of over 150 experts carrying out engineering and research projects. You will develop the skills needed to contribute to the delivery of a wide range of programmes for military, government and commercial customers to support the protection of national critical infrastructure.

The Cyber teams are made up of exceptional range and depth of cyber security professional expertise, encompassing; ethical security testers, threat intelligence analysts, crypto security experts, information risk consultants, security architects and network intrusion analysts at the heart of our Cyber Secure Operations Centre.

Our cyber experts work in multidisciplinary teams solving exciting and leading edge problems for Defence & National Security, wider Government, the Critical National Infrastructure and commercial customers. We invest in training & development of our people and actively encourage collaboration with colleagues and partners, which provides a fantastic opportunity to broaden your expertise.

Our Cyber teams are based at our Malvern & Portsmouth sites.

Secure Networks & IT

The Networks teams work on exciting projects to enable secured and resilient systems for QinetiQ and its customers. All aspects of IT infrastructure, cloud, and cyber security are covered.

Communications Scientist/Engineer

QinetiQ’s Ionospheric and Space Weather Research (ISWR) Team provides a technical centre of excellence for the investigation of radio frequency propagation, and the impact of the ionospheric, tropospheric and urban propagation environment on communication, radar, navigation and surveillance systems. Information obtained from studies of the propagation channel is used to optimise system design through simulation, trials and/or the development of propagation tools for coverage planning and frequency management.

The Secure Communications team undertake communications modelling, engineering design, development, system integration, and test and acceptance activities to support Maritime communication systems in the C4I domain. They apply current knowledge to development of legacy and current military-specific communications technologies in support of planned and future military communication installations to the MOD.

Required: Achieved or on track to achieve a bachelor’s degree or higher degree in a related STEM discipline.
