Where the STEM jobs are
Gradcracker works here's the proof
Our Engineers within the Radiation Physics & Shielding team are responsible for the design and testing of the radiation shields that protect the crew of nuclear submarine.
You will have responsibilities for providing input into the full product lifecycle of a nuclear submarine; concept, design, build, testing and in-service trials and you will be expected to contribute in all stages. Your role will be diverse and will include the use of radiation transport codes, the competent production of safety documentation, use of test equipment onboard nuclear submarines and the production of computer models using the latest design tools.
Our programmes require us to push our capabilities and technologies to the limit of what is achievable today. This raises many challenges for the shielding system as it must ultimately meet both our customer’s stringent safety requirements and bring leading edge performance to give competitive advantage wherever applied.
Any STEM honours degree (with a preference for Physics) or equivalent qualification.
