Follow your passion with the following responsibilities

BAE Systems IM&T are looking for a software development graduate to join the SDD&D team to help design, develop, and deliver a multitude of projects spanning many software development platforms. Within the role you will work collaboratively on both established applications (such as SAP) and also develop bespoke applications and interfaces using platforms like .Net, Mendix, and Oracle Fusion Middleware.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working on agile projects
    • Working as part of agile project teams developing and delivering requirements through sprints and adhering to agile principles.
    • Having involvement through each stage of a software development project from conception through to design, build, test, deployment and then in support.
  • Developing using different toolsets
    • Using the Mendix low code development platform to rapidly deliver stable applications to fulfil business requirements.
    • Using the Oracle Fusion Middleware suite to integrate enterprise solutions such as Teamcenter and SAP
    • Working with the .Net platform to develop complex applications where the Mendix solution would not be appropriate.
    • Enhancing and creating capability within the SAP system (ABAP & UI5) using the built in development tool.
    • Design and implement both Oracle and SQL databases where applicable.
  • Testing techniques and implementation
    • Work with the testing team to understand and carry out system, integration, and user acceptance testing on a wide range of software.
    • Understand and implement automated testing tools where applicable to increase the automated testing capability within BAE Systems.

This role is a great opportunity to be a part of an agile software development team and work with many different platforms to gain an understanding of how the vast array of IT systems and applications within a business work both independently and as a full architected solution.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s degree in a computing discipline.
