The Operations function is responsible for taking the designs, raw materials and plans and making our products a reality. When cost, safety and quality are all paramount, this can be quite a challenge. Operations is one of the largest functions within BAE Systems and covers all aspects of manufacturing, construction and integration. As an Operations graduate you will be able to get involved at all levels of the business, from solving manufacturing problems on the shop floor, through to working on facility strategies or managing your own improvement projects. It is an exciting and diverse function, and so are the opportunities.
To succeed in this area, you’ll need to be on course to achieving a 2:1 for our undergraduate schemes in an engineering, numerical or scientific subject. In addition, you must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance. Qualifications aside, Operations covers a range of disciplines from Quality through to Process and Production Engineering to delivery of our products and Maintenance and upgrade of our site facilities. As you can imagine this requires a range resourceful, enthusiastic and motivated graduates with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an analytical way, even under pressure. As a company committed to talent, we welcome applications from a diverse range of people, from all backgrounds and with many different skills, experience and perspectives.
