Operations - Summer Internship

The Operations function is responsible for taking the designs, raw materials and plans and making our products a reality. When cost, safety and quality are all paramount, this can be quite a challenge.  Operations is one of the largest functions within BAE Systems and covers all aspects of manufacturing, construction and integration. As an Operations graduate you will be able to get involved at all levels of the business, from solving manufacturing problems on the shop floor, through to working on facility strategies or managing your own improvement projects. It is an exciting and diverse function, and so are the opportunities.

Why join us? Graduates

Our graduates meet real world challenges from the day they join us. Listen to what some of them have to say about the opportunities they have experienced on the BAE Systems graduate programme.

It can be as technical as core engineering or as abstract as people management. If you’re after a truly cutting-edge career, in every sense of the word, then this is the right role for you.

Naval Ships:  By joining us, you’ll be working on projects that will help safeguard our nation for generations to come, including the Royal Navy’s new Offshore Patrol Vessels and Type 26 Global Combat Ships, while also being a part of our exciting transformation into a world class naval engineering business.

Submarines: Working with our team you'll join a group of experts who have been responsible for building every submarine currently in service with the Royal Navy. As an Operations graduate you will deliver projects, benefits and improvements to the submarine build programme, which is vital for delivering our customer the products it expects at the right cost and quality.  It is an exciting time for the Operations function because as the business grows, it means there are opportunities for graduates to grow with it.
