Due to expansion we have a very exciting opportunity for Chemists to join our Process and Product Development teams in our European Technology Centre based in Royston. This is a fast paced environment, where innovative thinking and a willingness to undertake a variety of hands-on activities are required.

In Process Development you will be directly responsible for the successful transfer of new products in our manufacturing facilities, with key involvement in the process optimisation and specification for a wide variety of autocatalysts. You will be required to work in multi-disciplinary teams tasked with projects ranging from process design and influence on catalyst development through to the technical support of catalyst production in any one of our worldwide manufacturing facilities.

In Product Development you will focus on the research, development and evaluation of new advanced catalyst formulations meeting our Global automotive customers requirements. You will be responsible for facilitating the running of development programs which includes preparing new catalyst concepts, organisation of testing and analysis. We are looking for individuals who can combine detailed scientific analysis with organisation skills and can acquire market awareness to deliver commercially successful products.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and support the manufacture of catalysts in order to comply with customer and legislative requirements, giving due consideration at all times to Quality standards, EHS and Sustainability.
  • Produce and apply knowledge of technical data, to assist with the improvement of products and processes to gain competitive advantage.
  • You will have the ability to combine scientific analysis and organisation skills.
  • There is likely to be a requirement for international travel to support our global manufacturing operations and/or customers.

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will:

  • Have a science degree in a relevant discipline with a PhD desirable.
  • Take a confident and innovative approach, with capability to work to project deadlines.
  • Be a resourceful team player with a hands-on practical approach.
  • Be self-motivated with strong problem solving skills and excellent attention to technical detail.
  • Have outstanding communication skills applied across a wide range of internal customers and stakeholders.
