We currently have an exciting 12-month placement opportunity for a Chemical Engineering student to join our Sector Process Design Engineering team in Royston near Cambridge, to gain experience of Process Design and Implementation roles within a fast paced and dynamic environment. This is an opportunity to join a core team; that helps enhance value for our customers and Johnson Matthey.

Key responsibilities

  • You will be involved in and lead on a variety of key projects to help develop safe, innovative and robust solutions.
  • You will have the opportunity to support the Sector Process Design teams with an active portfolio of projects.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • You will be undertaking a Chemical Engineering degree (or closely related discipline).
  • Have a basic understanding of mass and energy balances, fluid flow, heat transfer and
    analytical techniques.
  • You will have strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Have excellent communication skills along with a team working approach and be able to work
    closely with colleagues across the business.
  • You will be IT literate and understand how to read P&IDs and flow sheets along with the
    ability to present data in a clear and logical manner.
  • You will need to be available to start in August 2020.
