Chemical/Mechanical Engineer 1 Year Student Placement

Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells are looking to recruit two innovative and talented Chemical Engineering students and one Mechanical Design Engineering student for a 1 year placement at our site in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a new and rapidly developing technology that is set to play a significant role in future energy demands.

Your responsibilities:

• This role is key to supporting the team of Chemical and/or Mechanical Design Engineers within a Manufacturing site producing and developing new to world technology, supporting a complex fast changing research, development and rapidly growing manufacturing environment as the Fuel Cells business continues to evolve towards high volume manufacture and commercial success.
• Provide production support through process development and improvements
• Be involved in the design and development of new customer products for different applications
• Deliver projects to implement new production equipment and processes.
• Build relationships across functions, working with Production, Engineering, Product Development and Commercial teams.

Requirements for the role:

• Working towards a Chemical or Mechanical Design Engineer degree, ideally within your 3rd or 4th year
• Competent user of MS Office
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Desire to learn and willing to take on a variety of tasks
• Organised and able to multi-task
