Each day brings brand new challenges and bold new opportunities to the UK. We have the resources, knowledge and appetite to take them on. With a heritage dating back to the late 1800s, we know the UK inside out – and we’re determined to achieve the very best for it.
Here at Thales in the UK, we’re innovators. In partnership with leaders in academia and industry we deliver ground-breaking research, cutting-edge design and transformative technology that drives growth in the UK and beyond.
We’re developing technology to disrupt and transform society as we know it. We have an unwavering focus on the critical strategic themes of our time; maintain a firm grip on trends and opportunities within our markets; and foster the right mix of skill, agility and appetite for risk and change within our teams. But vital to our success is the nurturing of our ideas through open innovation. By collaborating with academia, industry and innovation hubs, we’re able to anticipate and reduce technical and market risks, improve efficiency, and above all, solve our customers’ biggest strategic challenges.
Thales teams think differently. To maximise our innovative potential, our Research, Technology & Innovation team have developed Design Centres, a Thales platform dedicated to user-centred, design-driven innovation.
It’s initiatives like this that set Thales in the UK apart.
Thales in the UK makes great engineers. With the 2017 Engineering UK report revealing that we’re likely to need 265,000 people with engineering skills each year until 2024, we know that some of our wisest investments are in the upcoming generation.
The historic change on the horizon for the UK will require many more qualified engineers to join the workforce over the next decade. Our role is to support and develop the next wave of Talent within our industry .
At Thales in the UK, we’re passionate about science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). We want to inspire young people to engage in these fascinating subjects, not just for their own educational development, but for the future of the UK.
People often assume STEM is for the schoolroom. We know it’s not. We’re on a mission to show future generations how important STEM is in our daily lives, and what exciting career prospects it can open up.
We’re developing tools and information for young people, and wherever possible we’re opening up opportunities for them to gain critical skills and knowledge about our industry and the options available to them.
