The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Material Planner. This role is responsible for ensuring that Thales’ material planning needs, especially in the manufacturing sector, are met supporting the company’s production schedules from providing KPIs to help drive manufacturing efficiency and continual improvements.

The role would be ideal for a motivated individual, with experience within Manufacturing Systems who can maintain a high standard of accuracy to meet deadlines. To succeed you will need to have a genuine desire to work efficiently as part of a team and be able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Assisting in the continued development of manufacturing planning and execution systems
  • Development and compilation of manufacturing KPIs in support of manufacturing improvements
  • Analysis of manufacturing activities in terms of adherence to schedules and performance against targets
  • Maintenance and management of parts supply through manufacturing systems
  • Providing training and support to manufacturing staff.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educated to a degree level in Information Technology, Manufacturing or Engineering would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Work experience is FMCG industry would be beneficial however not essential
  • A high degree of Information Technology knowledge and skill (Excel, Access, MS Word, and MS Outlook) is desirable
  • Able to work off of own initiative or as part of a team
  • Motivated by meeting targets and achieving continuous improvement across different processes
  • Flexible in your approach to a wide range of tasks that may be involved
  • Be motivated by targets and improvements to processes and performance.

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
