About the Role:

Thales UK has a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our Avionics team (AVS) as a Project Controller at Crawley. As one of the world’s largest suppliers in the aerospace sector, you will be joining a team recognised as a renowned leading supplier in avionic suites, on-board instruments and functions for all major global air-framers.

The principle purpose of the role is to support the Project Management Team by providing an effective specialised Project Planning and Control service for their projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with Project Controls, Project Management or relevant project/programme associated experience with a real interest to either enrich or develop skills and expertise in Project Controls.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • To be accountable for governance, deployment & reporting of Risk & Opportunity Management,
  • To be responsible for the independent assurance review and reporting process,
  • To lead on the assessment of risk and contingency in assurance reviews and activities,
  • To collect and monitor the use of ‘lessons learned’ as part of a continuous improvement culture,
  • To lead on the production of the monthly project reports,
  • To support the project contract review,
  • To provide guidance to Project Management Office team on the project comprising Planners and Project Support staff,
  • To ensure the correct and effective Project Governance is applied,
  • To ensure all Project activities undertaken comply with the relevant Thales Chorus processes,
  • The role will also involve occasional ad-hoc duties that are not listed above but are necessary to respond to the needs of the business. These ad-hoc duties will be consistent with the nature of a Project Control position within Thales.

You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment so it organisational skills and an ability to communicate and guide business decisions will be key. We are looking for an individual with the following skills and experience, however we are also able to train and develop individuals if these possess some experience in Project Controls with a high potential to learn:

  • Experience of providing an effective project control service in a complex multiple project delivery environment
  • Experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the full business lifecycle management, including capture, qualification and developing capture plans and winning strategies
  • Experience of client and stakeholder management in a complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-site project management context.
  • Experience that has provided a practical knowledge of commercial management, best practice supply chain and finance functions.
  • A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • An ability to embrace and encourage change.
