The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Land and Air Systems (LAS) business unit as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

We’re seeking a talented Mechanical Detail Designers, who can apply their knowledge and skills in an innovative mechanical engineering environment. We have built up a multi-disciplined team passionate about developing products for a safer world and we are now looking for like-minded designers to join us.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

This position would suit a talented mechanical designer with experience in one or a mixture of the following:

  • Creating and developing mechanical detail and assembly drawings
  • Solid foundation in Geometric Tolerances, Surface Finishes, Surface Treatments and Tolerance Analysis.
  • Evidence of applying innovative design
  • Good 3D CAD skills (CREO/Pro Engineer experience mandatory)
  • Familiar with precision mechanical design and assembly
  • Practical manufacture and assembly experience
  • Able to work to defined project plans and deliver

Working within a professional engineering environment, you should be familiar working in the design of products that comply with regulatory safety and environmental standards: EMC, RoHS, Reach, Weee and relevant Safety Directives

Minimum educational requirements

You will have a HNC in a Numerate, Scientific or Engineering subject with a strong mechanical bias or equivalent.
