Thales Research, Technology and Innovation (RTI) is seeking an intern for an exciting role within with Innovation Team to support prototyping, proof-of-concepts development, customer demos and innovation workshops. The Innovation Team is responsible for providing specialist support to current projects, application prototyping, future bids and helping identify and secure future strategic growth opportunities, spanning all Thales UK’s areas of business.

The work is varied and covers diverse areas such as design thinking, facilitated workshopping techniques, concept development, rapid prototyping and experimentation using synthetic environments. Your role will involve contributing to these activities through graphic design, design of user interfaces, & producing communications material etc.

Skills Required:

  • Graphic Design (User interface design / UX UI)
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Range of Design Thinking Skills
  • User Centred Design.

Skills Desirable:

  • Confident research ability
  • Creative problem solving
  • Comprehensive knowledge and ability in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Video Editing.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • Studying for or experience in graphical user-interface design
  • Examples of real world problem-solving, e.g. A Level or university projects
  • A “can do” attitude able to work effectively with minimal direct “hands-on” supervision
  • Good team player
  • A full, clean driving license is helpful but not essential
  • This role requires the candidate to be able to achieve SC clearance.

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
