Quality Engineer Apprenticeship

Aerospace Design degree (BEng)

Launch an exciting career by joining our Airbus Apprenticeship programme. Through this fully funded degree programme (with travel to and from college provided), our Apprentices receive industry-leading training and support to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to enable them to make an immediate contribution within the aerospace industry.

The world is a beautiful place

At Airbus, we strongly believe a successful business is a responsible business.

About us:

Quality Engineering is a transnational team providing quality assurance as part of Airbus Commercial Aircraft to develop world class designs and technologies for both our new aircraft programmes and the development of our existing products.

We work closely alongside and within engineering teams to assure our products comply with all the regulatory requirements, maintain safety standards, and safeguard Airbus’s world leading reputation.

An apprenticeship in Quality Engineering will give you the opportunity to work across all Airbus Commercial Aircraft programmes.

You will gain a working knowledge of the development, production and in-service processes used to create passenger aircraft, freighters and private jets.  Starting your career in Quality Engineering provides a wide breadth of experience giving you a solid foundation for progression throughout the Airbus Group.

What will you be doing?

The first year of your apprenticeship will be spent at Weston College studying for your Aerospace Design degree (BEng). You will spend your time between college terms working within the quality engineering teams at the Airbus facility in Filton (Bristol).  In subsequent years, you will progressively spend less time at college and more time engaged in projects and activities within the business.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will complete a number of placements within quality and other related functions. You will undertake various quality assurance activities such as advanced product quality planning, process quality management, root cause analysis, problem solving, big data analysis, design assurance and reporting.

You will gain an excellent understanding of how quality engineering contributes to the successful design and delivery of modern commercial airliners. You will gain experience of working as part of a large multi-disciplinary transnational team engaged in the forefront of aerospace engineering. You will learn how to put into practice the latest quality methods and make use of cutting edge digitalisation tools.
